I guess I must be developing into a grouch.
The most enjoyable movie I have seen ( out of the max 8 seen in the last 5
years, all but 1 on DVD) was the BBC rendering of "Pride and Prejudice".
Against my inclination I watched it when I was a house-guest of friends, and
thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, even though it was ? 3 DVDs long. I
greatly disliked "Wuthering Heights".
The only cinema movie I saw during that period was the one about Beatrix
Potter's life, much of which I enjoyed.
I guess I prefer UK-style humour as in the series "Are you being served"
Eye-candy (as I understand it) drives me nuts - I'd rather be someplace else.
And I have no time at all for the prevalent blood and guts violent movies /
videos that many people go for. It's no wonder that society has become
violent, with all this rubbish creating a mental acceptance of murder and
mayhem, especially in people who have had a steady diet of it since being
children..
