Certainly more difficult to use. It makes the camera's body and
telephoto to become a single unit, hence you cannot leave the
telephoto mounted on the tripod while changing bodies or converters or
adapters ....
But I bet it will dampen vibrations better ... and not too expensive
at 70-something, the original Olympus tripod collar was about 30 ~ 35
IIRC.
