Just something that I pulled from the far recesses of my memory. From
one of Katryn Eismann's books... ah, Photoshop Restoration & Retouching.
I misspoke on "screen" mode. I meant blending mode. I recall that
she used blending mode - multiply against two layers (one a duplicate of
the other) to restore color and contrast of faded or overexposed images.
Pages 50-51 and 80-81 of the second edition. It was a long time ago.
Blending and screen modes are mostly a mystery to me.
