Look more closely at the web image. The frame is a set of four frame
image pieces arranged around a single image of the scene alone. That
doesn't mean you are necessarily wrong, but I can't see any reason for
someone to take a picture of his picture, then putting it in a virtual
frame, rather than simply downsizing it for the web.

Agreed. The full EXIF data shows a sensor resolution of about 2886 ppi,
which calculates out to just over 11 MP.
