I would suggest that I probably had a bit of contrast reduction caused by
shooting directly into the sun, but I did boost the contrast and saturation
to give the image character I was looking for. In reality, I think that even
though I used +2 and CS4, this was no different than bumping the curves and
saturation a bit in post. The +2 and CS4 settings during conversion are
about the same effect as my normal shucking and jiving.
BTW, the sharpening on this image is very nice and fine, I can see the
> texture on the sand.

Thanks. This is mostly due to the size reduction for web display, but the
sharpness is essentially maxing out what the E-1 sensor can handle. In the
original file you can't necessarily see each grain of sand, but you can sure
feel the sand texture.
