John,
I have done this, but it was at the destructive cost of the glass ;) . But
seriously I just laid the eyecup on a hard wood surface and tapped a center
punch with a hammer to fracture the glass in a couple of places allowing me
to remove it. Obviously I was very careful to clean the remaining parts of
the eyecup to ensure there was no glass left.
At first I did try and disassemble it but I suspect it is glued together
rather than snap together in construction.
Dan.

Has anyone here tried breaking open an Eyecup 2 to remove the diopter?
I'd like to hear about it.
