Now this is interesting. The Ricoh GXR features 'interchangeable lens
units' -
a sealed unit containing both sensor and lens. I *have* to ask - what
is the point?
Every lens is intrinsically coupled to a sensor unit - and these come
in various
sizes and capabilities. Why on earth bother with having a separate
camera body then?
It basically just contains the buttons and LCD screen?
In my opinion, this is seriously misguided, and everything *but* a
'system camera' as
they market it. No matter how good the lens, it'll never be an
investment, it's always
hard-wired to some or other outdated sensor, a couple of years down
the line.
Sheesh - what do you guys think?
