Well, fortunately or perhaps unfortunately, I had the 90mm f2 and the 50 mm
f1.2 on a separate schedule. The 90mm at $700 and the 50mm f1.2 at $225.
I was asleep at the wheel, so I will get paid $925 for the two. The
Chrome Six was covered under my homeowners policy which pays replacement cost.
Given that they haven't been made in about 55 years, that will end up
being on the used market. No blank checks, but we will arrive at an amount
that one should be able to buy one for on the used market and I will be paid
that amount. My homeowners policy has a $1,000 deductible so that will come
off the top, which means the theft will cost me $1000, plus the amount
between what I insured the 90mm and 50mm for and my actual cost to replace
them and the price to fix my door lock. I figure that will be somewhere
around $2,000, however with some careful shopping I may be able to reduce that
a
little. Glad I had insurance. Bill Barber

How do these rarities get evaluated for insurance coverage?
