Ali,
I heard a detailed report on NPR about this novel procedure. There were
no electronics involved, but a clever way of using the man's tooth to hold a
tube in place in the center of his cornea: aka a pinhole eye! I believe he
needs glasses to correct the image that comes through the tube. This was the
first time this procedure had been performed in the USA. I think it was
first done in Italy IIRC.
