OK Ken, I think you see my problem....
I have a confession to make. I already bought one of these. From ebay of
course. It showed up with a buy-it-now price of $300. Looked OK but did
not have the original caps. I struggled for a while, but finally pulled the
trigger.
The lens arrived today (Olympus 500mm and Questar 700mm arrived the same
day... talking about a party at home - good thing my wife has no idea what
is going on... she sees me opening packages and pulling out strange-looking
lenses, and she could not care less).
The lens looks good. It is clean and well-cared for, but not mint and no
caps. I put it in an Olympus OM camera and looked around. Nothing strange.
So far so good.
But now I want another one for the ultimate of stereo telephotography.
Having already paid $300 for one lens, I don't see myself paying $600 for
the 2nd. Now my limit is $300 for this lens. I was tempted for a while at
KEH. I even put the lens in my shopping cart, just to see how the total
looked. But finally took it out and proceeded to pay for the rest.
