Yes, but the back of my OM-2 was actually hand inscribed by Maitani
himself, not a glued on metal plate.
ooooh, "Maitani dedicated one for me". WRONG. When a dealer bought a
certain number of 2Ns from us (Olympus Camera Corp, Woodbury, NY) , we
would engrave the owners name on the bottom of the camera and glue a
factory printed replica of Maitani's signature on the back cover inside
a special cutout piece of leather. I should know, I was responsible for
buying the engraving machine,and actually did some of the engraving.
Oh, yeah, I still have some of the Maitani plates. Ran out of cutout
leathers though. See:
