It sounds like awful over-reaction to me, Chuck
It sounds like a group of clueless people feeling more-than-normally
clueless and wearing their extra-clueless jackets and ties, led by
Captain(ess) Super-Clueless and his flight attendant team.
The same flight crew might think little of running a flight with one
generator out, or perhaps pressing to a more hospitable destination
with one of their navigation system u/s.
But then ... remember that this is a newspaper, that it's part of News
International and owned by the same person who owns Fox News in the
USA. Who knows what the story really was ... ?
I believe less and less in the newspapers these days, but News
International (Sun, News of the World, Times (London)) is particularly
bad.
