It's been a few minutes and have not seen any messages from the list... Is
everyone OK? :)
I just got a T28 Twin macro flash, and T Power Control 1. I paid $150 for
both (good, bad?)
I think I read here someone saying that they did not like the T28 and that
it is not built as good as other Olympus OM equipment. I do a lot of macro
stereo photography and thought that something like that would be useful.
Overall, I like the unit. Two complains only :)
1. The cords that hold the flash units are very thick and heavy. You cannot
move the flashes too far from the control unit. I think a straight (not
coiled) cord and maybe longer would have been better.
2. The modeling lights require 6V. The control unit runs on 6V. How hard
was it to power the modeling lights from the same power source as the
control unit??? To use the modeling lights, I will need separate power,
which makes the whole thing too complicated.
Despite these complains, I like the unit.
I already figured a couple of ways to attach the flashes (I do not have the
macro ring, but even if I had it, it would have not been very useful for me
because I am using the unit with non-Olympus non-2d non-traditional setups).
When I find some time I will post pictures of my setups.
