IF the lens is heavily stopped-down, yes. But wide-open is just the
opposite...
The non-OTF metering system (used for display and spot, but the standard in
almost any other brand) can't measure very low lights, but just extrapolates
the "full aperture metering" when the lens is going to be stopped down, then
going into several minutes exposure.
