I appreciate the cynicism (really!) :) .... but seriously, there HAS to be
a reason. For example, a 19" panel isn't exactly 19 inches but instead
something more like 18.3" mainly because part of the panel is hidden by the
outer bezel; so this IS the reason and the variance isn't big at all. The
manufacturer can explain it as a way of rounding off a number. As for
contrast ratio, 510:1 and 1000:1 is a HUGE difference. Surely.....
