Are you sure?
If the lens is moving then you have 3D. If the camera is moving but not the
lens, then you don't have 3D (just cropping as you say).
I have no experience with shift lenses but lenses mounted on bellows with
shift (& tilt) functions (Olympus does not make one) do shift and there is
3D.
