No, it's not about perception. Nor is it about manipulation. The thread started
with a flat statement: "Digital doesn't cut the mustard for landscapes." That
may not be an exactly exact quote, but close enough. My point was that digital,
does, in fact, cut the mustard. How cleanly the mustard is cut depends entirely
upon the talent and experience of the photographer.
I said no more than that and meant no more than that. Any negativity is
infered, not implied. JPC's work was cited because the day before I read the
mustard comment, I had been in his gallery looking at his work.
