Chris-
Digital may not be quite there for you, but for what I shoot, It's
great. Most of my shots are informal Dad & Daughter portraits, and group
shots. (see <http://hatsdallas.shutterfly.com>, the shots with file
names that start with an underscore and then a number, in albums like
6th rock climb 1, 7 Canoe 1, 5th Canoe 1, Sweetheart Banquet, Winter
2009) I started doing these with film, but found that I was spending a
lot on film & processing. Plus I really like having a great zoom (14-54)
that will focus itself.
I haven't given up on film entirely though, I still shoot a roll of
Kodachrome or two around Christmastime.
Thanks, Steve Goss, Dallas Tx usa

Digital is certainly good enough if you have the deep pockets that
people like J.P. Caponigro have. He's likely using a Canon EOS 1DsIII,
maybe even a medium format digital system. I know he uses Canon for a
lot of his work. For those of us who cannot afford $8000 camera bodies,
digital still isn't quite there.
