It depends on how you want to use the projector, for HD video projection or
just for photo images and what projection size you expected. I have an old
Panasonic PT-AE500 for video with 1280x720 resolution (16:9), the lens can
resolve each pixel edge to edge (actually you don't want to see the pixels
:-)), not that bright but ok to project to 100" screen with a total dark
room.
At your price range, for home video with brighter output I would recommend
the Panasonic TH-AX200. Also 1280x720, 2000 lumens (2 times the brighness of
my old projector).
