Sorry for it being too late, but perhaps for future backup consider
giving the XMarks add-on a try:

It's particularly good if you work across multiple computers. Works
with IE and Safari too, apparently (the latter was good for getting my
bookmarks onto my iPod Touch, even though I don't use Safari on my
iMac).
