Seriously, I've already done the preparation work for a "Copper Country"
workshop. The major advantage over Isle Royale is that we can get everywhere
in Jeeps instead of having to hike our rumps off. However, there was a
certain charm to it. If we do Isle Royale again, we're staying in the
cabins where there are beds, showers and two-ply for every room--oh and
electricity.
A "Copper Country" workshop would include shoreline scenery similar to that
on Isle Royale, dozens of miles of 'roid-stretching forest-road, waterfalls,
defunct copper-mining operations and of course, the Porcupines. I was
originally going to have this workshop this fall, but the economy really
affected it and we decided to hold off for another year.
