I found it useful when used together with ImageRescue3 - both recover
files but not the same files.
ImageRescue (IMHO) recovers damaged files, but ignores other files.
TestDisk recovers less files, but none of them damaged - and it recovers
files which were ignored by ImageRescue3.
Anyway, damaged files were easy to fix by means of a little crop.
And TestDisk is now a new version.
Fortunately, I was not in the need to use it to test/repair my HD
(touching wood right now).
