You might both be interested in this report of a memorial to the convoys,
unveiled last year (in the presence of 3 veterans) at Loch Ewe, where the
convoys assembled before setting sail:

One of the veterans, Reay Clarke, is - to my personal knowledge - still
going strong, having survived PQ-18. Andrew, I think HMS Scylla was one of
the escorts for PQ-18.
