Thanks for that, Piers, although you did take your time considering I
was waiting with bated breath.
I should point out that the equivalent (infinitive) of operare (if
there were such a word) is operari. Although my Cassell's Latin
Dictionary (23rd edition, 1944!) doesn't give the infinitive in bold.
