The sensors on digital backs were initially quite small, about FF 35 sized,
so the utility of the Fuji with the digital backs then in production was
limited. Newer backs with larger sized sensors would take advantage of a
great camera, but then again, they don't make it anymore.
Imagine a full 645 sensor in the old Bronica RF.

Hi Bill,
I am not sure what you mean by "but it passed its time before digital back
sensors got big enough."
I recall a digital back announcement for the Fuji GX680 somewhere in the
early 2000's, but knew that would never be able to afford it...:)

Willie,
What a fantastic camera! Fuji has a history of making great cameras and
lenses for which they get little more that cult recognition. There was a day
when I thought this would be the camera for digital backs, but it passed its
time before digital back sensors got big enough.
Highly recommended.
