The controling purpose of our visit to Omaha was the Henry Doorly Zoo.
Fun, attractive place -- recommended. Especially nice as far as I am
concerned is the Butterfly Pavilion. Otherwise, you'll see some small
mammals and a snake or two from the Desert Pavilion. There is a
Tropical Pavilion and an aquarium. The large primates were outside
-- must have been for the first time this season. The gorillas were
quizzical. Maybe they are just like that. I was empathetic and have
included doubtless too many gorilla photos.
The aquarium was impossible for me. At highest ISOs I still couldn't
get a shutter speed that was adequate to most subjects. Utterly
dependent upon IS and luck of catching subjects at a stationary moment
(when is aquatic life NOT moving?).
In short -- ANOTHER ZOO GALLERY!!! --- aaaarrrrrrggggghhh!
I didn't pay attention to the names of the animals I was shooting, so
I did no annotations. A shortcoming, in retrospect.
Most shots were made with the DZ 50-200 (slower, older one -- you
know, the one with the GOOD glass -- hehe). Among the butterflies I
added the DZ 1.4 TC here and there.
