No, but you just have to deal with the occasional earthquake, wildfire and
mudslide to avoid it.

I'm trying to figure out that justification....

There is one huge advantage to living in the wintery climates.  There's
nothing like a good blizzard to keep the riff-raff down.  We don't have near
the street-crimes in blizzard country as you do in the warmer climates.
