Your wife definitely has the brains of the family ;-)
I call your attention to the fact that she doesn't mention "lubricate".
WD40 works OK to make a stuck part move but really isn't much of a
lubricant no matter what the can says. Ads will say _anything_. Of
course for stuck parts a penetrating oil like Liquid Wrench works
better. Once it starts to move use a real lubricant and save more grief.
And I can't see any reason to use the stuff on a ballhead. Or anything
else but a dry cloth. If your ballhead is that stuck then you have
bigger problems than WD40 will fix.
