That is correct. When you try to do "product photography" with a focal
length longer than 100mm (in 35mm format) you get too much foreshortening.
Ideally, you want to use a "normal" focal length (give or take a little) and
correct for downward angle by using lens shift instead.
Anybody else notice that cutouts are now much more difficult with digital
cameras with extended high-key sensitivity? ;)
