I actually meant that steam survived longest in those places where
there was a large pool of cheap labour, such as China, India and RSA,
no more.
Not about to get into a discussion on the rest as my knowledge base
is far too thin. But I have a number of South African acquaintances
and workmates of white Anglo, Cape Coloured and Indian ethnicity
including former ANC activists who fled the previous regime and I
don't think any of them would agree with your analysis, for one
moment, even thought they have left for economic or security reasons.
I don't think that qualifies as what Ken referred to as 'media
distortion'. However I do have great sympathy for your present plight
and recent experiences - I don't think I'd have the stamina to stick
around.
