Yes, I know it is cold up north and you know it is warm down south. We will
probably be in the high 60's or low 70's today. We've had one or two days
so far this year that have dipped below freezing and this isn't about global
warming, it just happens to be the way things are in Texas when it isn't
hotter than hell.
What you may not know is it is drier than a popcorn fart down here. Driest
year since 1902. Yes, I know, we should just suck it up. Unfortunately,
that is exactly what San Antonio has been doing for many years . . . sucking
the
Edwards Aquifer dry. What that means is, as a new homeowners in an area on
top of the Edwards, I can't tap into it for my water. That really isn't a
problem as I installed a rainwater collection system when the house was built.
Unfortunately we plan to move in by the end of the month and we have two
10,000 gallon rainwater storage tanks that are empty. That sucks! So, my
request of the list is for each of you to take a moment this weekend and do a
little rain dance for central Texas. Perhaps the collective consciousness of
the
OMers will break this dry spell.
What this has to do with OMs is that I need water for my wet darkroom.
Until it rains, there will be no "cloud juice" produced images. So, please
everyone, dance like there is no tomorrow. A huge Texas thanks goes out to
all
you dancers. <{B^) Bill Barber
