Hi Ian,
Very nice capture, the image looks ok but looking at the original size it
seems that the NR is too strong, reducing the NR strength a little could be
helpful to avoid the artificial look.
For your Portra 800 shots, they mainly suffer from focus problem, don't
expect 21/2 can cover the errors, the DOF is very narrow for close distance.
You have to stop down a little bit and make sure the focus is right.
Looking at both cases, it seems that you are suffering from digital age
problem... leaving everything to the camera :-) You missed the ISO, shutter
speed, focusing and may be aperture too ;-)
