The common cheap monitors like mine advertise a viewing angle of 160deg. I think these use a TN panel. (Please correct me if I have it wrong.) A jump in price of $200-300 gets you a monitor with an advertised viewing angle of 178deg. using a different type of panel and better lighting. Pay the big bucks to get a panel with the best backlight.
