Oh yes! She was at the party, too. <g> So were my parents, aunt &
uncle, etc. And still we got rowdy enough the police were summoned.
They were quite nice, though. Phew!
And speaking of Church of England, Joan and I visited an old Saxon
church on the grounds of Dover Castle when in the Motherland a couple
of years ago. I think it's the official chapel of the Royal Artillery
now, or some such. But it was/is such a beautiful place, and so
filled with a spirit of peace and tranquility (never mind the castle
right outside or the affiliation with cannon) that we decided it
would be a very nice place to renew our vows. As we had not made any
arrangements, and no vicar was to be found, we did it ourselves. I
suppose it still counts. This March 31 will mark 36 years.
