Go with #1. You won't regret it -- unless you end up wasting the
equivalent time on the computer. :-)
I think the last program I regularly watched was West Wing. Now I only
see TV when I visit family. ("Hey, look! It's a box with people inside
it! Why are you all just eating and talking and stuff when those
people are trapped inside there?")
Everything I want to see is in the DVD rental store or on the Internet
-- and no (well, very little) advertising!
