In November, I spent several days in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia.
Early one very brisk morning, I took the OM around the main square.
Some of the architecture clearly shows Soviet influence! Mongolians
generally use Cyrillic script, but not Russian. Mongolian script is
written vertically.
Another day I visited a Canadian-operated gold mine a couple of hours
out of town. Lots of interesting sights, but little opportunity to take
photos.
