Interesting new HS imaging chips.
This is not super high resolution (3MP), but the readout rate < 1/500 sec is
very fast for a purely electronic shutter at this resolution.

Not needing a mechanical shutter would be big advantage: in allowing the
design of a much simpler, smaller, lighter cameras. As well as combined HS
video/still cameras.
Normally the slow electronic readout of cmos imagers in DSLRS, makes it
essential to use a mechanical shutter. Otherwise, any moving image or hand
shake gives very smeared picture results.
This readout speed would translate to a 1/250 sec in a 6M size sensor. This is
within striking distance of being fast enough for use, without any mechanical
shutter.
