Just keep a spare BLM-1 battery in your pocket to swap out when the battery indicator barks at you. Once swapped, put the "dead" battery in your pocket to warm back up. Just keep swapping them and you'll be fine. The E-1 is among the best winter cameras ever made. Whatever you do, don't stick your tongue on the camera.
