Well the first and now second big snow is here as well as the first two
plowing bills. Twelve inches yesterday and another 6 today---turning
to sleet now. The garden seems like a distant memory but here is some
color:

The Monarch shot was at dusk --spotted by Marnie. This is my first 1
sec exposure live critter shot as he barely moved at the 48 deg F temp
in mid Nov. Manual fill flash was used. Thought Dr. Flash might like
that even if he doesn't care for the image. Rarely get a chance to
get out my table of light lost from extension. Went back to check in
the AM and he was still there. I feared he was on the no fly list to
Mexico. I set up with a longer lens to simplify the background but the
sun warmed him a bit and he took off before any more exposures.
I missed a potentially very nice shot of a red-spotted purple on our
Rudbeckia but I was pleased to get a couple shots off with the Sulphur.
Any comments, pointers appreciated.
Note: Zoto seems cranky again-only seems to work with IE7 and not
Firefox since the last update a week or two ago. I had all my galleries
zipped and ready to transfer and it started to behave so I sat on it as
there is already more than I can do in a given day.
Oh well.
Mike
