I wouldn't be too sure that the camera manufacturers use a pure feedback 
control system.
In the quest for "fastest autofocus" they are likely to use feedforward to 
reduce hunting and then try to tune the system to achieve the required 
accuracy, hence the stories I've heard that owners are required to send their 
camera bodies and lenses to a service centre for callibration.
