I don't know the answer but I can add a small data point.  I discovered 
last year that the 5D will not sync at its maximum of 1/200 sec. when 
using a yabe radio slave trigger.  It has to be slowed down to 1/160 sec 
else one of the shutter curtains casts a small bit of shadow along one 
edge of the frame.  Now the difference there is 0.00125 seconds. 
Doesn't sound like much but it's still 7-1/2% of an OM's 1/60 sec. 
shutter speed.  Who knows.  Test it by firing the remote T32 with a 
radio slave and also with a wire in the PC connector with the other T32 
in the hot shoe.

Actually, I should be careful with the can't sync at max statement since 
that was with Alien Bees.  Studio flashes may behave differently with 
respect to sync speed than portable flash units.
