I agree with Iwert and Charlie on the markings.  Olympus unexpectedly 
and totally without comment sent me an MA-1 some time long after I wrote 
them a letter complaining about the lack of such an adapter before it 
was released.  As I recall, I sold it to a list member since I never did 
buy an E-1.  I was certain I had images of it taken for purposes of the 
sale but can't locate the images.  I do remember being very surprised 
when JH announced the existence of the "MF-1" since what I had was not 
so marked.
