This is the first hot shoe Q flash I've ever seen. They give a GN of
160 ISO 200----not really much different than the T32. Odd way to give
the specs--perhaps some don't do the math. It doesn't list Oly yet as
being supported but the Q5dR does. This requires one of their power
packs and list the power as 150J. Some of the Q flashes seem to
"know" what power pack they are hooked up to and the energy stored
varies accordingly. Wonder how they do that.
It would be nice to be able to choose max power or recycle time for the
situation. Tim has always said that recycle times get long with 4 AA's
with > 70 J (T32). The new Metz 58 AF-1 (from an e-mail) stores 87J
with 4 AA's. Perhaps they take liberties on the listed "recycle time"
as it doesn't appear possible otherwise.
Dr. Flash is probably busy making sure his VueScan software is OK, so
I'll post this now as he'll never see it.
