Had a big blow last night. I bundled up and headed for Pemaquid Point
this morning. Wind or tide wasn't right to get the kind of surf
pictures I really like (see website, Big Water, Pemaquid Sunrise &
Pemaquid Thunder), but I still managed to acquire some 400-plus
images. A quick perusal suggested most of them will wind up in the
trash, but a few struck me. The home page features one of them. Shows
the mouth of what's usually a placed little cove directly below the
lighthouse. For the web I've cloned out a few seagulls, as they look
like specks on the image rather than gulls. On the large print I
made, they look like gulls and add to the image. In fact, the gulls
really enjoy high surf, as it delivers many of the delicacies they
enjoy, such as starfish. Yesterday I missed a great gull-with-
starfish in his beak shot because I didn't have a 600mm lens. Sigh.
First time I get a spare $10K . . .
