One disadvantage of most small, fixed lens digicams is the modest WA
available. I've found a couple of ways around it:
A cheap auxiliary lens can work wonders. Sure it's distorted, and has
edge/corner sharpness issues, but it covres over twce the FOV of the
standard 35mm eq. lens.

Even rather casual, hand-held panoramic series can often create a good
super wide panorama.

Both approaches take more time than a simple shot with a wider lens, but
the camera and lens with me is still better than the ones at home.
