Hi all,
On Monday evening I was rear ended at a local roundabout. Road was greasy
due to drizzle and a car skidded at least 30ft, rear ended me and pushed my 6yr
old Saab 93 6ft on to a round about. Testimoney to the Saab only bodywork
damage appears to be rear bumper and underskirt. However damage has been caused
to the exhaust which has been pushed forward and bent at the catalytic
converter, and damage has also been caused to the gearbox.
whilst waiting for repairs to my car I have been loaned a new (800mls) Saab
Aero 93 TTiD. This has a 1.9l twin turbo Diesel engine. 180 brake hp with 400Nm
of torque. 45mpg..and you cannot get it to run out of "grunt"
It really shows how far diesel cars have come on in the last few years.
Now I just must keep repeating diesel...diesel....every time I pass a petrol
station.
In a few years time when it has lost 50%+ of its value it might just be in my
price league!
Estimate for repairs approx £3,000/ $5,500 Plus cost of hire car which will be
passed on to the insurer of the "muppet who rear ended me!
