I hope this works; Zoto is getting cranky and I hope they don't turn
the lights off w/o notice. :-(( It usually works if you check back in
a few hours. I'd better post the Mooseland trip soon.
It's been a very long time coming, but prepared this for the list. We
stayed at Finca Enyhe for about a week, not too far from one site where
the Monarchs over winter in fir forests. We were on horse back for
about 8 hours per day. There is a cooking school at the farmette and
one can do the Valle de Bravo "light" ride with riding in an the AM
only and cooking classes in the PM.
The lunches and dinners were nearly always an A+. If we dismounted at
the Finca, Louis would take your bar order immediately upon dismounting
and bring it to the pool if so desired. Not so bad.
About half the shots are Marnie's. I can't link to a specific shot in
an album in zoto unless I choose a different size and it lacks the
borders etc.

The first several are form where we stayed. I'll comment on a few:
Monarchs, monarchs, monarchs!

As per Moose's link to the OM 4T torture test, the cam was up to the
task.
I rode with a ba
ckpack for the Monarch day, but it was hot and a bit
cumbersome at the canter. Perhaps a camera saddlebag rig exists. I was
hell bent to get a couple nice shots, though the guide to the Monarchs
(not our ride guide who owns the finca) gave us only 15 minutes. It
seemed like 30 seconds and when I looked around, there was no one in
sight. I had to scamper back to to where the horses were--a good hike.
Lunch---a very nice mule followed us. He was very important as he had
the beer.

On the day before Easter, we meandered into town. Being inspired by
Nathan we took some shots.

I requested the "camera horse." He was just a good egg with comfortable
gaits and would not go haywire if I stopped him
on a dime to frame a shot with the XA while the othe
rs went on ahead
---This formation is known as the "Three Kings."
I don't remember it being as hazy as depicted.
