We are also having what looks to be a record fire season already, very
early. They have air quality warnings over much of my end of the state
due to smoke from all the fires.
You should see whatever sort of eucalytps predominate around here go up
when a fire approaches in 100+F weather. Whoomph! The whole thing goes
up at once, like a giant torch.
The native redwoods are practically fireproof, and the native live oaks
and laurel, while they do burn, are not incendiaries.
