2 minute limit on OM-2n, correct.
OM-2 limit depends on film speed, but it "will keep the shutter open when
the flash does not give enough output, using available light OTF as an
addition to the light produced by the flash" (from eSIF) while 2N forces
1/60 sec with T series flashguns.

I believe you have that reversed i.e. the 2 minute autoexposure was
for the -2n. The -2 was limited to 60 seconds.

I too, retained my OM-2 rather than keep an OM-2n that I had. My reason
being that I desired to retain the longer auto exposure limit that was
reduced on the OM-2n model.
