I think perhaps the lower key is coming from my efforts to push the
shadows down a bit with curves - I shot some jpegs at an inadvisable
setting (I'm not used to it but will have to get by until there's a
lightoom upgrade - I downloaded silkypix to look at the raw files but
it looks like a major learning exercise) leading to some odd looking
dark areas I wanted to lose. There may be something else going on
with my workflow as well - I did spend quite a bit of time on
calibration and printing the other week, and it's working for me, but
who knows what it looks like anywhere else.
I believe that thing in 318 is what's sold round here as a "meat pie".
Not that inviting at the best of times, and this one was well past
that...
